Planning for future energy resources (Letter to the editor)

Existing technologies can contribute to global warming mitigation. However, projected levels of emission-free power needed later this century to stabilize climate change appear to be so unprecedented that it would be foolhardy not to assess a broad spectrum of advanced energy sources, converters, and enabling technologies.
